Immunity Testing
Do you have COVID Immunity?
Firstly, to answer this question, it is important to understand what is meant by immunity to the COVID-19 virus. Since the creation of the vaccine, we are now looking at two specific types of COVID immunity;
- That of a natural immune system response from being infected with the virus
- That of a synthetic immune response that is provided from taking the recently developed COVID vaccines
There are multiple factors that can impact a person’s immune response to the COVID virus. One of the biggest, which is now well known, is that of a person’s age. Recent research has also determined that there may be a link between a diseases’ severity and an individual’s long-term immunity.
What this means is that those who are experiencing a severe reaction to the virus are more likely to develop a stronger long-term immune response. The exact duration of immunity also varies greatly from person to person. As of early December (2021), it is believed that natural immunity to the virus for those who have recovered from infection can last anything from 3 months all the way up to 5 years!
Regardless of the circumstances of a person’s immune response, you may simply want to know if you have natural antibodies to help fight off any potential re-infection.
Here at Fast Test Centre, we can offer you the opportunity and appropriate test to find out!

The antigen swab test gives you a very reliable indicator of whether you have or have not currently got the virus. A positive result has a very high chance of confirming if you are carrying covid-19 virus in sufficient quantities (viral load) to make you infectious. There is of course a margin for error in any test, but the margin is small.
The antibody blood test gives you a very reliable indicator of whether you have been exposed to the virus by detecting certain antibodies in your blood. Please note; it is not yet fully known if an individual with a positive result showing presence of IgG levels following being infected with COVID-19 will be protected, either fully or partially, from future infection, or for how long the protective immunity may last. Please see our available tests for more information.
